George Sher (gsher@rice.edu) is the Herbert S. Autrey Professor of Philosophy. He has written widely on issues in ethics, moral psychology, and social and political philosophy. In recent years, his research has centered on two main topics: responsibility and distributive justice. His books in social and political philosophy include Equality for Inegalitarians (Cambridge University Press, 2014), Approximate Justice: Studies in Non-Ideal Theory (Rowman and Littlefield, 1997), Beyond Neutrality: Perfectionism and Politics (Cambridge University Press, 1997), and Desert (Princeton University Press, 1987).
